David L. Krotine
David L. Krotine practices in the firm’s Real Estate and Corporate groups. Dave has more than 22 years of experience representing publicly and privately owned commercial lenders, developers and investors. Dave’s practice includes entity formation for public and private owners investors, such as partnerships, limited liability companies and corporations; real estate and corporate asset-based financings, workouts and restructuring, purchase and sale of businesses and real estate; and leasing.
Darrin Menezes is a member of Weintraub Tobin’s Real Estate and Litigation groups where he represents clients in all types of real estate and environmental matters, including the negotiation of contracts as well as litigation in all California state and federal courts and representation in administrative hearings.
Kenneth Sylva is a shareholder with the firm specializing in commercial real estate development. In representing developers both as in-house and outside counsel, Ken has been active in all stages of development from acquisition (including complicated ground leases) through land use, infrastructure, financing structure, construction and loan documentation, property management to sales and exchanges of such developments.
Louis A. Gonzalez, Jr.
Louis A. Gonzalez, Jr. is a shareholder and chair of the firm’s Litigation group. As a trial lawyer, Louis has tried over thirty jury trials to verdict. He has also tried numerous court trials and binding arbitrations to decision. Louis began his legal career as a trial deputy with the Sacramento County District Attorney’s office, where he handled several high-profile cases. Louis joined the firm in 1993 and has represented clients in an array of business and real estate disputes.
Michael A. Kvarme
Michael A. Kvarme is the firm’s managing shareholder and practices in the Real Estate and Corporate practice groups. He has over twenty-five years experience advising and counseling business interests throughout California and nationally, most prominently representing real estate and corporate clients, in a wide variety of transactions.
Susan K. Edling
Susan K. Edling specializes in leasing and CC&R work within the firm’s Real Estate practice group. She assists developers and owners of office, mixed use and retail properties with standard and specially-negotiated lease documents. Often, Susan provides commercial restriction and easement agreements for the office park or shopping center in question and provides the form and content for its typical leases. Susan also specializes in covenants, conditions and restrictions for master planned communities and common interest subdivisions including condominiums.
Shawn M. Kent
Shawn M. Kent is a shareholder in the firm’s Real Estate and Corporate groups. Shawn’s real estate practice focuses on representing developers and investors in the purchase, sale and development of real property and solar power projects. Shawn’s experience includes representing developers in commercial, residential projects and solar projects, from the formation of a development entity and acquisition of property, to financing and construction of a project, through any resulting sale or leasing needs. He has extensive experience in representing lenders and borrowers in all types of real estate related loan transactions, including acquisition and development, construction, environmental remediation and permanent financing.
C. Darrell Sooy
C. Darrell Sooy’s practice emphasizes financial institution law, real property and secured transactions. He has specific experience in litigating many of the important issues that have faced real property lenders in California. Darrell is a regular lecturer for California Continuing Education of the Bar on the subjects of Escrows and Escrow Litigation, Secured Real Property Transactions and Recent Developments in Real Property Practice.
